In this way, through a pitch-type presentation, each of the thirteen participating companies presented their offer, export experience and target markets in order to strengthen ties with the commercial directors of ProChile.
The General Director of ProChile, Ignacio Fernández, commented that “this first Demo Day arose as a response to the requirement raised by Climatech Chile, in the sense of publicizing its offer in markets determined by themselves based on their own interests”.
“We are interested in supporting the associativity of small and medium-sized enterprises. This association in particular brings together highly innovative companies, many of which are already exporting and which not only contribute to diversifying our export matrix, but also to position ourselves internationally as providers of highly demanded services such as those related to non-conventional renewable energies and the mitigation of the effects of the climate crisis.” Fernandez added.
According to Constanza Levicán, President of Climatech Chile and Founder of Suncast, “based on the data provided by the Internationalization Survey requested by ProChile, answered by 22 members of our GA, we can say that 64% have already exported and that 45% of our associates are billing abroad or have international offices.”
“The realization of this first Demo Day is a step of a joint working group to promote and streamline communication between ProChile and the companies associated with Climatech. The next activity consists of an internationalization workshop that will be held by the Spanish commercial office, for innovative climate solutions, on May 9,” added Levicán.
Pitch by markets
For more than an hour and for periods of no more than 5 minutes, each of the thirteen participating companies presented their offer, export experience and target markets to the ProChile teams in Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Spain. The interest of these companies in these specific markets is part of the results of the Internationalization Survey requested by ProChile and applied to the companies that are part of Climatech Chile, where 7 companies that have already exported to Mexico and 7 that have already exported to Colombia were identified. Likewise, Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Spain were among the markets of greatest export interest for this year.
The detail points out that every company has more than one target market. However, they were sorted according to their primary target market. In this way, the companies interested in Colombia are Ainwater and Instacrops; the companies interested in Spain are Wenu Work, Kran and Suncast; the companies interested in Mexico are Reciclapp, Capta Hydro, O2 Company and Remote Waters, and the companies interested in Peru are Fresh Water, Cuencas Chile, Arcom and Recylink.
The Head of ProChile’s Services and Tourism Subdepartment, Claudia Moreno, highlighted the main actions contemplated for the remainder of the 2023 calendar for this type of company. Thus, for example, he commented on the realization of a couple of trade missions to Peru (June 13) and another to Mexico (August 27) plus the participation in the Expo Solar fair in Colombia (from October 4 to 6).
“In addition to all these activities, we are present at COP 28, which will be held preliminarily from November 6 to 17 in Dubai. There we will organize a side event that complements Chile’s participation in this COP and enhances the technical and commercial link of our companies with their international sectoral counterparts in this unbeatable showcase,” Moreno added.
“We are also planning to bring a group of between 6 and 8 importers from different Latin American countries to Antofagasta, where an important group of companies related to clean energy, energy efficiency and solutions and services associated with green hydrogen is concentrated. We hope to carry out this activity by the last days of October or the first days of November,” Moreno concluded.
