Kran was chosen as the winner of the second generation of Nestlé Mexico’s “Re-generacion All in” program.
Kran was recently chosen as the winner of the second generation of Nestlé Mexico’s “Re-generacion All in” program. The startup, a pioneer in the development of water and production efficiency solutions for industrial processes through nanobubble technology, is now focusing its efforts oninternationalization strategy.
“This award is a validation to continue delivering solutions that are replicable at an industrial level, not only in small companies, but also in large multinational companies such as Nestlé. And not only in Chile, but working with Nestlé Mexico means strengthening our operations in the United States and Mexico. A very good opportunity to work with a great company, continue to validate our solutions and strengthen our position in new markets,” said Alejandro Hernandez, Kran’s Industrial Assistant Manager.
Founded in 2017 by Jaime De la Cruz in Puerto Varas, Chile, Kran in January of this year set up office in San Francisco, USA to establish a solid presence in that market. That is why this recent award is perfectly aligned with its internationalization strategy through commercial partners, new clients and States.
The challenges that the startup had to face were: Reduce CO2 emissions; Promote the circularity of packaging; Reduce food waste; and Improve the use of water: Disruptive solutions to treat and reuse water from industrial processes, Softwares for mapping water levels in hydrological sub-basins. It was in the latter category that Kran was the winner.
Kran is working on its consolidation
The Chilean startup indicates that they are clear about the importance and size of Nestlé at a global level, so they intend to strengthen a long-term relationship. They will be able to impact their results and replicate the applications in their different plants and countries where they are located.
“Today we are in the process of raising a bridge round, talking with domestic and foreign VCs, under a three-year expansion plan, strengthening our position in LATAM and strengthening the internationalization of the company. A large part invested in assets to continue deepening our service model,” says De la Cruz.
In the short term, Kran seeks to consolidate its solutions in Chile, which includes increasing sales and customer base. In the medium term, they intend to strengthen their international presence. “We have an office in the United States, where we already have customers in industrial plants. In parallel, we have a strategic partner model that has allowed us to develop projects in different countries and continents. In particular, we are already operating projects in horticulture through partners in Spain and a series of projects in food and beverage production plants in Latin America. “Our challenge this year will be to make these opportunities a reality, Nestlé being a clear example of this“, says the founder.
