For many companies, odor control has become extremely relevant. It can be differed if there is more or less odor in a certain place, however, when this causes discomfort, measures should be sought as soon as possible to reduce these annoying odors.

About 80% of annoying odors are made up of hydrogen sulfide H2S, and to a lesser extent amines, volatile fatty acids, mercaptans, among other compounds mostly from anaerobic processes.

Methodology

An operation is carried out where the environmental problem is found to evaluate whether the injection of nanobubbles is applicable to the existing process, then environmental analyses are carried out before and after implementing the system. We have experience in equalizers and both aerobic and anaerobic lagoons.

Results

  • Total eradication of hydrogen sulfide H2S.
  • About 98% decrease in ammonia.

How nanobubbles work

  • Aeration - Oxygenation: Due to the small size of the nanobubbles, the transfer of oxygen to the medium is greatly increased due to the area/volume ratio.
  • Stability: Nanobubbles act as particles that remain in the environment unlike the behavior of microbubbles or normal bubbles, generating a saturation that can be maintained over time and even in downstream processes if necessary.

  • Odour reduction:
    Considering the stability and oxygenation of nanobubbles, it is possible to use them in order to prevent anaerobic processes in the system through the effective presence of oxygen in the medium.
