SECONDARY TREATMENT WITH NANOBUBBLES
Benefits of Nanobubble Oxygenation in Biological Reactor
- Increase in dissolved oxygen
- Filament Control
- Increased stability in available oxygen levels
- Improvements in the operation of biodiscs
Methodology
Nanobubbles were exclusively used in a RILes treatment plant (PTR) where process water from dairy products and dairy products is treated. NB was injected to pre-oxygenate the RIL entering the biodiscs in the plant, which helped improve dissolved oxygen levels to carry out organic matter removal. Operationally, this helped control filamentous bacteria in the process, which in the face of a low concentration of dissolved oxygen colonize biodiscs and decrease efficiency in activated sludge systems in water treatment plants.
Results
- Oxygen range required for operation in biodiscs. From 4.05 mg/L to 5.4 mg/L with nanobubbles.
- Increased COD by 10.23% in the removal of organic matter.
How nanobubbles work
- Size – Cubic Capacity: –
- Stability: This property allows saturation to be maintained over time and O2 to be delivered progressively and prolonged, achieving a better development of aerobic microorganisms involved in the fixation and absorption of nutrients.
